Concrete Scanning

Concrete Scanning

Concrete scanning is the process of using Ground Penetrating Radar to detect the position and depth of steel reinforcement, post-tension cables and other services within the concrete.

This is of particular importance to engineers, architects, and building contractors both for a structural analysis of the concrete or prior to core drilling or concrete cutting.

Notable Accomplishments:

More than 400 concrete scans has been done across South Africa by Subscan with 0% comeback.
The purpose of these scans include:
  • detection of post tension cables,
  • 3D engineering reports for analysis of concrete,
  • determining the exact best position for core drilling to be performed.
